Chattanooga Flying Disc Club: League Rules, Summer 2002

1. RULES OF THE GAME

A) All games will adhere to The UPA's Rules of Ultimate, 10th Edition.  (Link here for an overview of substantive rule changes from the 9th Edition to the 10th Edition).  Before the start of each game, team captains are allowed to adjust these rules to accommodate their specific situation - if, and only if, both captains are in agreement.

B) All games are coed with a 5 man / 2 woman format. This format may be altered if agreed upon by both captains. A captain does not have to agree to play with less than 2 women. In such a case, the opposing team may not play more than 5 men.  Each team always has the option of playing more than 2 women, with the understanding that the opposing team does not have to match.

C) 4 time outs will be allowed per game, with no more than 2 per half.  A time out shall last a maximum of 90 seconds, in accordance with the UPA Rules of Ultimate, 10th Edition.

D) Games will begin at 6:30 PM: If it is 6:30 PM, and one team is ready to play but the other team is not, the ready team should get 7 players on the goal line and begin counting points at the rate of 1 point every 5 minutes. They must first warn the other team that they are doing so, by notifying any one player of the other team. The assessment of points is the team's decision and is fully supported by the CFDC League Coordinator and the CFDC Steering Committee.

E) Each game begins with a disc toss. The winner of the toss may choose to pull or receive, or choose which end of the field to take at the beginning of the game.

F) Games are played to a point total according to the following table:

Game begins: Game is played to:
6:30-6:45 PM 19
6:46-7:00 PM 17
After 7:00 PM 15

Victories must be by a margin of at least 2 points. A hard cap of 2 points above winning score will be imposed. Captains may adjust the this to accommodate their needs, so long as both captains agree.  No game should continue beyond the point where lighting becomes a safety issue.

G) The League Coordinator reserves the right to cap all games due to safety concerns associated with weather, fading daylight, or any factor that is deemed to put players at risk.

A) Addition of players to a team before a game is allowed only with approval from the League Coordinator and the opposing captain.

B) Field conditions are deemed too poor and/or dangerous by the League Coordinator or representing member of the CFDC Steering Committee as according to the Camp Jordan Rain Policy

C) Teams agree to postpone the game due to exceptional circumstances

D) Postponed games can be rescheduled and played within the following week on either a Thursday evening or Sunday afternoon, if possible.
