What is Ultimate League?

Have you ever experienced something so profoundly satisfying that everything else suddenly seemed superfluous in its presence? Ultimate will affect you in such a way.  Not that you'll give up eating and bathing, but work and Sundays afternoons at the movies may just lose their charm.

Ultimate, also known as "Ultimate Frisbee," is a non-contact sport played with a "Frisbee" disc by two seven-player teams. The object of the game is to score goals. The disc may only be moved by passing from player to player, as running with the disc is not allowed. Any time a pass is incomplete, intercepted, knocked-down, or contacts an out-of-bounds area, a turnover occurs, resulting in an immediate change of possession of the disc. A goal is scored when a player successfully passes the disc to a teammate in the end zone which that team is attacking.  Ultimate relies on athleticism, strategy, and, above all, teamwork.

The Chattanooga Ultimate League offers everyone, from the beginner to the expert, a chance to experience the excitement of Ultimate in a recreational setting.  We encourage universal participation because we believe that all people deserve a chance to play the greatest team sport known to man.  It's time for you to play Ultimate, even if you've never thrown a Frisbee!

All teams are coed and incorporate an even integration of skill levels, so that no one team should stand out from the rest. The league aspires to educate all participants toward a deeper understanding of the game, including basic concepts, rules, skills, and strategies.   Our goal is to provide a relaxing  atmosphere with a competitive edge where sportsmanship and Spirit reign, an atmosphere guaranteed to give your body a workout and your spirit a lift.  We strive to encourage fellowship throughout the community, so you're guaranteed to meet some fascinating individuals both on the field and at our social functions during the season.
